For the past several years, Derby has participated with Lee National Denim Day, a fundraiser created by Lee Jeans to support Breast Cancer Programs. The beneficiary of the program is the American Cancer Society. Employees are asked to donate at least $5.00 for the opportunity to wear jeans at work. Derby makes a matching contribution as well. Each year we also hold best dressed in pink contests, baking contests and other special events to further support the cause. This year we decided to try something new. In early October, we hosted a Derby Dunking Booth. This event took place at our corporate offices in Louisville, KY and was live-streamed so that employees at all of our locations could take part in the event. Employees could purchase balls to throw or special tickets for a guaranteed dunk. Plant Management, Supervisors, Corporate Managers, Directors and even Derby’s President, Diana Herold spent time in the dunk tank. The event was a great success, raising $4,201.
