Derby Supply Chain Solutions Joins the KAIA

Kentucky is known for many things—horse racing, bourbon, college basketball, fried chicken, bluegrass music and lush greenery, just to name a few. But did you know that it’s also a force in the automotive industry? With over 1.2 million vehicles produced in 2013, Kentucky ranks third overall in light vehicle production and first per capita. Employing nearly 82,000 people, Kentucky’s 460 motor vehicle-related establishments are a tremendous help to the economy. In the past five years, nearly 300 motor vehicle-related projects have been announced statewide, representing more than 17,600 new jobs and $4 billion in new investments. The Kentucky Automotive Industry Association (KAIA) is an organization driven by the needs of Kentucky’s automotive industry and Derby Supply Chain Solutions is looking forward to being a contributing member.
